There have been many great couples throughout history. Romeo and Juliet. Bogey and Bacall. Julie Christie and the computer who impregnated her in Demon Seed. However,
these are all couples of the 20th century. The 21st century demands new couples. Couples like me and my fiancée Lisa.
Lisa’s the only woman I’ve ever loved. We’ve laughed together, we’ve cried together, and although our relationship has been strained at times due to arguments over the quality of various X-Files episodes, we’ve managed to keep our love as fresh and exciting as ever. Lisa’s the only the woman for me, and I don’t just say that because she bought me Stubbs the Zombie for my Xbox. She’s a wonderful person,and all I could ever ask for in a soul mate.
Although there are many pretenders to the throne of 21st century couplehood, I think Lisa and I have them all beat. Before we die, we’re going to have our heads cryogenically frozen. Then, when science has developed a way to cure death, we’re going to be revived and have our heads surgically attached to robot bodies. We will then exact revenge on everyone who ever wronged us, especially those who laughed at us for having our heads cryogenically frozen. While I’m sure there are many couples out there with moving stories of love and devotion, none of them seem to have put much thought into actually living through the entire 21st century the way we have. And if you’re going to name a 21st Century Couple, you might as well choose one that’s in it for the long haul.
However, that’s all in the future. Right now, Lisa and I don’t have much money, so we’ve never really been able to do much traveling. A trip to Hawaii would be a dream come true for us. The fun we can afford includes watching TV or, if we’re feeling particularly adventurous, going for an evening out at Old Country Buffet. While fighting a 300-pound woman for the last chicken finger may be a fun “date night” for some people, we’re getting a little tired of it. Lisa and I are going to spend the rest of our lives together, and winning this trip would allow us to start our journey together right.
I love Lisa with all my heart, but I haven’t really been able to give her all the things she deserves. Nothing would make me happier than to give my future bride the Valentine’s gift of a trip to Hawaii. So if you want give a young couple in love the trip of a lifetime, or if you just want to get on our good sides in preparation for when we come back from the dead and become cyborg rulers of world, please vote for us.
