1. To enter "TheWeddingContest.com" Contest, contestants must submit an essay of 500 words or less online describing why they are a 21st century couple, and why they deserve to win a wedding in Hawaii, along with their name, address and daytime telephone number, at www.theweddingcontest.com. As an alternative to an on-line entry, contestants may submit their essay to P.O. Box 663, Portland, OR 97207. The entries must be entrant's own original creation and may not have been published or previously entered in any other contest or won any other award. Entries will be judged equally on the following criteria: (1) creativity (2) writing style and (3) relevance to theme. Entries that offend community decency standards will be disqualified, i.e. lewd, vulgar or offensive entries. Entries may be submitted on or after July 6th, 2005 Noon ET and must be received no later than January 31st, 2006 Noon ET. Limit one entry per person. All entries become property of TheWeddingContest.com. Entry into the Contest constitutes consent to use entrant's essay for editorial, advertising and publicity purposes, without further compensation, except where prohibited.

2. This Contest is open to legal residents of the 48 United States and the District of Columbia, 21 years of age and older as of time of entry, except the employees of Blue Nile, Lisa Light, Destination Bride, My Event, TheBigDay, Starwood Hawaii Hotels (collectively "Sponsors") and members of their immediate families.

3. Entries that are lost, late, illegible, incomplete, misdirected or incompletely received, will not be eligible. No telephone calls will be accepted.

4. NOT ALL ENTRIES WILL BE JUDGED. ONLY THE TOP [20] VOTE RECEIVING ESSAYS WILL BE JUDGED. VOTES MAY BE CAST IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE VOTING PROCEDURES SET FORTH AT THE FOLLOWING WEB SITE: www.TheWeddingContest.com. ONLY ONE VOTE MAY BE CAST PER E-MAIL ADDRESS. ONLY A VALID, WORKING E-MAIL ADDRESS MAY CAST A VOTE.

5. The judges of this Contest will select the best entry from all eligible entries based on the above-referenced judging criteria, on or about February 14th, 2006. Judging for the Contest will be performed by Lisa Light. Winner will be notified by telephone and/or by e-mail.

6. One (1) winner will be selected on or about February 14th, 2006 from all eligible entrants. Approximate retail value ("ARV"): $5,000. Winner must accept prize in its entirety or prize will be forfeited and the entrant who submitted the next best entry will be selected as the winner. Wedding must take place before March 1, 2007.

7. A winner must comply with all instructions in the prize notification and winner's complete response must be received by Sponsor within 14 days of the date on the prize notification. If not, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner selected. Winner may be asked to complete an affidavit and release.

8. No substitution or transfer of prizes will be allowed except by Sponsor. Upon delivery of any prize to winner, Sponsors will be deemed to have awarded the prize to the winner with winner assuming full ownership and responsibility for the prize.

9. By entering and/or accepting a prize, winner releases and agrees to hold harmless Sponsors, their parents, affiliates and subsidiary companies, directors, officers, employees, representatives and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind, including death, arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of a prize or participation in this Contest. Acceptance of prize constitutes consent to use winner's name and likeness for editorial, advertising and publicity purposes, without further compensation, except where prohibited. Winner's name may be posted on the Sponsors' sites and in the Sponsors' e-mail newsletters and collateral material.

10. Liability for any applicable federal, state or other taxes will be the sole responsibility of the winner.

11. This Contest is governed by the laws of the United States with venue in Multnomah County in the State of Oregon. By entering, you agree to be bound by these rules and you give your express permission to be contacted by the Sponsors by e-mail and/or mail.
